SCA continues to be in the FTSE4Good global sustainability index

SCA has qualified for the eleventh consecutive year for the FTSE4Good global sustainability index. FTSE4Good’s review proved again that SCA has a strong sustainability strategy.

This time SCA got 98 points out of 100 possible in FTSE4Good’s rating.

”During 2010, SCA began the installation of a lime kiln at the Östrand pulp mill in Sweden which will cut carbon dioxide emission by 80% and we have released a new global hygiene supplier standards, to name just two examples”, says Marita Sander, Sustainability communications manager

Index criteria

FTSE4Good is a global market index for sustainability, measuring the companies’ ability to meet globally recognised standards for environment, corporate responsibility and governance.

The criteria covers environmental management, climate change, human and labour rights, supply chain labour standards, countering bribery and corporate governance.

The FTSE4Good index is jointly managed by the London Stock Exchange and the Financial Times, evaluating businesses based on their social and environmental actions.
