For as much as women chat, nearly 85% of boomer women aren’t discussing sensitive, yet natural signs of aging that people go through, including bladder weakness. Many women are too embarrassed to broach the topic with anyone, yet 1 in 4 women have bladder weakness, so it’s much more common than you think!
Having a leaky bladder can be related to a variety of things, including pregnancy, obesity, surgery, rigorous exercise, or simply just one of those things in life. There is no need to be embarrassed – it happens to millions of women! And of course, we would all know how common these changes in our bodies were if we just started sharing with each other.

It’s not a secret that women confide in their friends and family, oftentimes the discussions take place in safe areas like the living room couch.
To help spark conversation, we launched the TENA Conversation Couch program to encourage women to take control of their health by sitting down and opening up.
It’s our hope that the couch will serve as a symbol of normalcy so women can feel comfortable with talking about those “oops” moments and ways to help manage bladder weakness. We believe no woman should ever stifle a laugh out of fear of having a leak, so let’s have the conversation, and some laughs, about what bladder weakness really is!
